In My text/soundtrack video Science Fiction (2007), I explore the interrelationship of genre and intertextuality. Composed of a sequence of text fragments, each work explores the thematic tropes and formal conventions of a familiar filmic genre. They draw attention to the question of originality by uncovering formulaic constructions. These pieces develop their own narrative tensions, in a myriad of interconnected ways.
